Hunting Black Bear in Ontario The Hunt  You will hunt in our approximately 600 sq/km BMA (Bear Management Area) in central Ontario.  You will hunt over active bait, prebaited at least 4 weeks before the hunting season starts. There will be at least 2 baits per hunter. We check the bait sites on a regular basis.

The best time for hunting is between the early afternoon and dark.

After we have showed you your hunting area, you can use your own vehicle to drive to the stands. 4-wheel drive is not necessary.

From the road to your stands you may have to walk 10 - 20 minutes.
